Pickering Electronics in the UK will exhibit coaxial reed relays for high-speed digital switches

On April 7, 2024, Pickering Electronics, a leading manufacturer of high-performance reed relays, will participate in the EDI CON (Electronic Design Innovation Conference) held at the Beijing National Convention Center from April 9 to 10, showcasing coaxial reed relays for RF and high-speed digital switches, including the latest 113RF series.

The EDI CON China (Electronic Design Innovation Conference) is hosted by Microwave Journal, Signal Integrity Journal, Microwave Journal China, its parent company Horizon House, and the Hong Kong Yashi Media Group. The exhibition brings together engineers and system integrators in the fields of radio frequency, microwave, EMC/EMI (electromagnetic compatibility/interference), high-speed digital and mixed signal components, semiconductors, and testing and measurement, providing participants with social, training, and learning opportunities. Attendees attending EDI CON can learn about various technologies, including design, simulation, testing, and validation, as well as practical engineering solutions and products, in order to meet the latest design challenges in today's communication, RFID, radar, consumer electronics, industrial wireless monitoring, navigation, automotive, aerospace, and medical applications.

"Pickering's coaxial miniature reed relay has faster switching speed and smaller size than electromagnetic relays (EMR), lower insertion loss and better DC capability than solid-state relays (SSR), and stronger thermal switching performance than microelectromechanical (MEM) relays." said Robert King, Product Development Manager at Pickering Electronics, "This reed relay is the best solution for RF and high-speed digital switching systems."

Pickering's new miniature coaxial tongue spring relay 113RF series is suitable for high-frequency RF systems up to 3GHz and high-speed digital switching systems, which often require low RF loss and low insertion loss. The 113RF series relays use the highest quality instrument grade reed switches, with a typical expected lifespan of over 250 million reliable operations, providing consistent and reliable performance. The 113RF series tongue spring relay is suitable for switching signals up to 10W and 0.5A. The Form A configuration (SPST normally open) offers two coil options: 3V or 5V. The 113RF series tongue spring relays have a small footprint of 2mm pin spacing, allowing them to be stacked and arranged at a very high density. The relay has an internal mu metal magnetic shielding, which allows the relay to be stacked at a high density, thereby avoiding the risk of adjacent devices interfering with each other and causing operational errors.

Pickering Electronics is a leading manufacturer of reed relays for high-density instruments and testing measurement applications. For RF signal switching and high-speed digital switching applications, Pickering provides coaxial reed relays that can switch up to 5 GHz. Pickering's miniature, magnetic shielded reed relays are an ideal choice for high-density applications, such as automatic testing equipment (ATE) switch matrices or multiplexers.

At the EDI CON 2024 site, Pickering Group will showcase the modular signal switch and simulation technology of its subsidiary Pickering Interfaces, which specializes in designing and producing switches and simulation products, as well as the cables and connectors of its subsidiary Pickering Connect, which specializes in designing and manufacturing cables and connectors. Robert King, Product Development Manager at Pickering Electronics, commented, "The Chinese market is full of vitality, and Pickering is constantly improving its tongue spring relay products for testing and measurement instruments and automatic testing equipment. We hope to attract audiences from different industries and applications to Pickering on EDI Con, including mixed signal semiconductor testing, RF and microwave testing systems, and high-voltage instruments."
